The Wrap reports that The Daytime Emmys, which will not be telecast this year, will have a strong live-streaming presence on Periscope, courtesy of a partnership between NATAS and Parachute TV. Parachute TV will cover the red carpets of both the main ceremony on May 1 and the Creative Arts Emmys on April 29, and winners will interact with fans via Periscope after their acceptance speeches.
“Awards shows are doing an incredible job with live-streaming apps like Periscope and Facebook Live,” said Parachute TV Co-Founder Caroline Lesley, who will also serve as one of the event’s hosts on Periscope. “And giving fans a chance to interact with their favorite celebrities backstage is another great step forward.”
